Each book can be read on it's own, but I highly recommend reading the series from the
beginning. Amusing Amanda has been compared to "Queer as Folk," which I consider a great

5 ANGELS AND A RECOMMENDED READ FOR AMUSING AMANDA
Let me take my hat, coat and pants off to D.J. Manly! To say he's out
done himself with Amusing Amanda wouldn't begin to highlight what a
great story he's created. He uses an emotionally starved male
prostitute to design a tale that will consume readers with its
intensity and frequent bouts of sorrow. Scott is a boy in a man's
body starving for the lack of love he's become so used to having
that when it finally finds him, he almost has a complete meltdown
because of his inability to deal with it. Scott and Ciel's relationship was painful,
passionate but ultimately inspiring toread. Their sexcapades for the amusement of Amanda
were just as intense as any voyeuristic tryst I've ever had the pleasure of reading. I
congratulate D.J. Manly on this fierce story that
showcases his evolution and growth as an author. I also look forward
to what's next for Ms. Amanda and her wealth of money that allows
her to purchase the best private entertainment available.

DJ Manly has done it again. This is a scrumptious story of m/m love with an added twist: a
woman who really likes to watch and
choreograph the action, thereby orchestrating the men and their actions. Amanda is a widow
whose late husband was a sex addict. She is
sick of the act of sex, but instead satisfies her drive by acting the voyeur in a very private
show. The handsome men she purchases can
have anything they materially desire, but must only share their bodies with each other on her
command and in the way she directs.
Amanda knows how to direct very well indeed. This fits well with the men’s personal desire
for one another. Scott is from a very difficult
background and feels both attraction to and threatened by Ciel. Ciel hasn’t had an easy life
either, but is more confident of himself and
his emotions. The angst between the men explodes in the bedroom scenes where neither
can hide his intense desires. It’s a rocky
journey before real feelings can be admitted and happy endings found. I found the journey
well worthwhile, but would warn readers that
Amanda’s jaded palate is not for the traditionally romantic, although the love story between
the two men is romantic. As for Amanda, I
hope we see more of this woman who wraps self-assurance around a vulnerable core.
