What's Tainted About?
Lane lives life on the edge. The
gorgeous lead singer and guitarist of
Thrill Seek, Lane is always looking for
the next high, the ultimate thrill. It is
what draws the vampire Duriken to
him. To go to the edge of death, to
experience the fine line between
pleasure and pain…to live forever
with incredible sexual prowess…that
was living. But be careful what you
wish for…
Nigel has been obsessed with the
leader of Thrill Seek since he first saw
him on a music video. When his best
friend David goes on the road and
follows the band, Nigel defies his
parents and joins him.
When Nigel and Lane meet at a back
stage party, Nigel knows that despite
Lane’s notorious reputation, there
can be no other lover for him. What
he doesn’t know is--Lane is slowly
becoming a vampire.

Duriken began to laugh, but he took a
step back. “So which one of your
songs should we play for this scene?”
he scoffed.
Lane wrapped the whip around his
hand, and glared menacingly at
Duriken. “How about ‘The Hangman?’
“Why that one?” Duriken tilted his
dark head.
“Don’t you know anything about the
occult?”
He laughed.
“The Hangman is a card in Tarot.”
Lane took a determined step towards
him. Duriken took another back.
“The Hangman sacrifices much to find
the answers to his questions,
sometimes even his own life.”
“And how does it end?”
“Well,” Lane narrowed his eyes.
“Sometimes he realises that it’s not
worth it, that what he was looking
for,” Lane glanced over at Nigel and
swallowed, “was there all along.”

...DJ Manly created a story where two
worlds collide causing one very self-
centered rock star to choose the
ultimate thrill, or the possibility of the
love of a lifetime. Nigel is a very quiet
and unassuming man who has
hidden depths to him. Lane is, on the
surface, very superficial, but
underneath he has needs that only
Nigel seems to see. The combination
of Nigel and Lane together is very hot,
but also poignant. Add Duriken to
create both conflict and eroticism and
you have a story that can’t lose. I
will be waiting to the next installment
of Tainted...
